Chris Wilburn is the head instructor at Combat Base Carolina. A black belt in BJJ under Chris Hauter. He provides a real world approach to instruction by blending sport Jiu Jitsu, street self defense, and MMA. Utilizing over 15 years of combative experience to tailor instruction for his students.
Lindsay Riddell, a brown belt and lead instructor for the Women’s Self Defense program, helps women claim their space and build confidence by combining her love of Jiu Jitsu and Krav Maga in her instruction. She has 7 years of experience in Fit to Fight Krav Maga (Level 3) and over 7 years experience in Jiu Jitsu. In addition, she has completed the Sheepdog Response Level 1 Protector course and is SafeSport certified.
Jake, a Jiu-Jitsu purple belt, having trained under Chris since 2020 is also a husband, father, and an active law enforcement professional. Focusing his game and training for real life physical encounters from a simple street fight, up to a lethal force scenario. He strongly believes jiujitsu and submission grappling in general can help law enforcement become more professional, de-escalate situations without lethal force and better serve the public.
Ashley Mullis, a blue belt and certified yoga instructor, started jiu jitsu after a self defense class left an empowering impression. She is now the assistant instructor for the Women’s Self Defense class helping to share the spark that started her training.
